Job Summary of Auto Mechanic:

This position is responsible for performing regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and mechanical repairs on a wide range of UPS fleet vehicles, including box trucks, trailers, tractors, and other heavy duty equipment. Key duties involve troubleshooting and correcting problems related to hydraulic and air brake systems, electrical wiring, and engine performance to ensure reliable operation. Additional tasks may be assigned to support operational needs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Auto Mechanic:

• Perform repair work on gasoline and propane-powered vehicles.
• Operate vehicles equipped with both manual and automatic gear systems.
• Use air-powered and electric tools to carry out maintenance activities.
• Follow scheduled maintenance plans to ensure vehicles remain service-ready.

Qualifications and Experience of Auto Mechanic:

• Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license is a must.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required for this role.
• Must be physically capable of lifting up to 70 lbs. (32 kgs).
• Available to work varied shifts up to five days per week.
• Must bring and maintain the necessary hand tools for repair work.
• Ability to perform frequent physical movements such as bending, climbing, walking, and standing for extended durations.
• Must comply with all Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) job-specific regulations.

Salary:

Starting rate: $38.43 per hour.
